Buckeye Brass Plain Steam Whistle 25 Diameter BeautThis is a gorgeous buckeye brass single note (plain) steam whistle. Stamped buckeye brass works, dayton ho near top. Bell diametre is approx 2.5. Brass is in beautiful shape overall, and appears to have been well tended. Judging by its 2.5 diameter, this almost certainly is not a locomotive whistle, but one edsigned for another purpose, perhaps for a steam launch. Chamber length is approx 5.5 measured from outside. The bell appears to lie slightly off center from the center post, but i presume that a craftsman can correct this easily enough. Overall whistle height approx 12.5. Add another approx 1.5 w base. I have not blown tihs whistle, as i only have access to high pressure steam, and i suspect this would be blown on something much less than locomotive pressure ranges. The valve appears to be in worknig order. The steam inlet is 1 female.Just a little light oxidation here and there nothing major. Comes with a metal display base in the shape of a steam loco.
